"Two hours before our Christmas party, the place we originally booked texted and canceled on us last minute. In a panic, I called Village Tavern, and they immediately stepped up and saved the day. They graciously offered us the upstairs space, and it turned out to be absolutely amazing, especially considering how last-minute everything was. The entire experience exceeded expectations. Every bartender and staff member was incredibly kind, accommodating, and welcoming. You could genuinely feel that they cared about making our night special, and they absolutely did. I can't thank them enough for turning what could have been a disaster into a wonderful Christmas party. Highly, highly recommend -- this is a place that truly goes above and beyond. Also the music choices were fabulous "

"Had the opportunity to visit the Village Tavern for the first time in a long time with my wife and another couple. It's my understanding that they are under new ownership and were working hard to create a great experience for their guests. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive and the front part of the tavern was cozy as it has always been. The place was hopping - the back part was hosting a costume party (Halloween was the day prior) with a revolving cast of characters frequenting the front of house. There is no food yet as the kitchen is being remodeled, but you are able to bring in food for the time being. The bathrooms were updated and the establishment was very clean. There are plenty of televisions up front for sports lovers. We eventually traveled to the back and up the stairs to a small game room with a pool table and two dart games. All were in working order and fun to play. I'll definitely be back, especially when the kitchen is open, to check out what they have to offer."

"You'll see a lot of "I used to come here" posts with negative reviews. Those are more about people who don't like change. I used to come here too - 20 years ago. But then it became a dump. People called it "dive" but no..."dump" is more accurate. It's finally adapting, improving, and money is actually being spent to make it better. I've not had the food but the atmosphere, cleanliness, and service are much much better than it was a year ago"

"This place is under new ownership & they've made some nice renovations...its always been a fun, local hangout...one of the only places in the area where you can actually dance! The new improvements have sanded down some of the rough edges that plagued the place in recent years...there's No food, so eat dinner at one of the nearby restaurants and wrap the night off with a cocktail, fun atmosphere & dance the meal off."

"We gathered here for my good friend's retirement party. My husband and I had never been, so we didn't know what to expect. We arrived early to be sure of a parking spot. When we entered under the green awning we were in the main bar area. Thinking there might be a reserved room in the back, we walked to the left of the bar into another part of the establishment. What a pleasant surprise to see another bar and a much larger room. This area contains tall tables and stools, a stage and a pool table. That's where we gathered. The atmosphere was perfect for a group of friends to casually gather for a retirement celebration. The menu was limited for Lenten Friday diners, but the food we ordered was delicious. Crinkle Fries were crisp on the outside, hot and tender on the inside. They were served in a good size basket with a side dish of ketchup. Mozzarella sticks came 5-6 per serving with a dipping dish of marinara. They were so good that we could have easily eaten 6 more. The pretzel bites are "incredible". Hot and tender with a melted butter flavor that teases your mouth to crave more. My favorite was the cheese quesadilla. Thinking we would have to settle for boring tortillas with melted cheese between the layers (and no meat), I was not expecting what we were served. The tortillas were crisp AND tender, filled with a combination of cheese, peppers, onions and mushrooms, making it a taste-bud treat. This was rounded out with a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Be aware that the kitchen does not officially open until 5 PM. Our server (I can't remember her name) was just back from maternity leave and never missed a beat. She kept up with orders and tabs, always with a smile on her face. I would highly recommend this place for any gathering of friends, family, neighbors, co-workers...or a night out with your special someone."

"The Village Tavern offers an interesting atmosphere with its three areas in one. When you walk in you have a more relaxed dive bar type of setting, on the opposite side you'll find a larger room that has more of a dance club area, in the middle there's another bar, which is a bit more happening than the first one, due to the club feel spilling over. This place attracts a surprisingly diverse crowd and it's the only night life happening and open, in miles. The tavern is not the most trendy place, but it has it's own character, which makes it worth checking out. Service is good and drinks and food is what you would expect from a bar."
